Trial for fake bomb suspect rescheduled

— A trial has been rescheduled for a man accused of strapping what he said was a bomb to an elderly woman’s ankle and then forcing her to withdraw money from a bank.

Prosecutor John Threet said Tuesday that Paul Bradley’s trial has been reset for for Oct. 3.

Bradley has pleaded not guilty to robbery, kidnapping and firearms charges. He was arrested earlier this year after he purportedly tried to extort money from an elderly woman and her husband, authorities said.

Prosecutors said Bradley attached what the woman thought was a bomb to her ankle. The device turned out to be fake.

Bradley’s attorney, Scott Parks, didn’t return a phone call for comment.
