FAYETTEVILLE — Fayetteville native and former University of Arkansas basketball standout Ronnie Brewer signed with the New York Knicks on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
According to reports, the contract is for one year for Brewer, 27, who spent the past two seasons playing for the Chicago Bulls. Brewer played in 66 games last season, averaging 6.9 points per game.
Chicago declined to pick up Brewer's $4.37 million contract for the 2012-13 season, making him a free agent this off-season.
Brewer was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the 2006 NBA Draft and also had a brief stint with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2010.
