Posted: July 19, 2012 at 2:22 p.m.

A former Lowell police officer claims in a lawsuit that he was fired for refusing to carry out what he describes as an “unlawful ticket quota directive.” Kevin Knight, who was employed with the Lowell Police Department from March 12, 2007 to Jan. 23, 2012, made the allegations in his suit against the city of Lowell and the police department. The suit was filed Wednesday in Benton County Circuit Court by Knight’s attorneys Nick Churchill and Drew Ledbetter.

I watched the lowell K9 cop friday night at 2030 make a (south) left hand turn in Rogers at the intersection of pleasant grove and 71b. As he did so an on coming truck made a right hand (south ) turn on to 71 business in Rogers at the Kum and Go. And proceeded to turn his lights on and pull over a trk in Rogers not in lowell, the trk never came from lowell or entered Lowell. I was unaware thatthe Lowell Police were given jurisdiction in Rogers? I was under the imipression they could only make felony stops not misdimeanor stops just to harass citizens of Rogers to get their numbers up? I have watched this several times at the same lcoation.
