— Jacob Holly, 27, of Rogers faces second-degree murder charges in connection with a stabbing incident Saturday night near Elkins.

The body of Chris Kelley, 44, of Elkins was recovered at about 2 p.m. Sunday from the White River by divers, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. A search for his body began after the Sheriff’s Office received a report at 9:56 p.m. Saturday of a stabbing under the White River Bridge on Arkansas 74, east of Elkins.

One man, Shawn Kelley, 22, of Elkins, was with Elkins police at a gasoline station being treated for a stab wound when deputies arrived. Shawn Kelley is the son of Chris Kelley, according to Kelly Cantrell, Sheriff’s Office public information officer.

Shawn Kelley was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville by Central Emergency Medical Service. He was in fair condition Sunday, according to a hospital spokesman.

Deputies arrested Holly when they found him under the bridge. Holly was arrested Saturday in connection with felony first-degree battery related to the stabbing of Shawn Kelley, according to preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor's Office.

Holly was released at 1:21 p.m. Sunday from the Washington County Detention Center on $15,000 bond.

After the body was found, he was picked up again, Cantrell said.

According to the preliminary report, Holly admitted to stabbing the two men. He is being charged with second-degree murder in the death of Chris Kelley.

Chris Kelley’s body will be sent to the state crime lab to determine cause of death, stated the release. The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending.
