— A man accused of dealing illegal drugs is on the lam after skipping his trial Thursday.

Reynaldo Cantu Jr., 35, of Springdale was scheduled to go to trial on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, theft by receiving and possession of firearms by certain persons.

Cantu was arrested in January in connection with the theft of two handguns from Sturm’s Indoor Gun Range in Springdale. Springdale police reported finding the guns in Cantu’s possession as well as 25 grams of meth and more than a half-pound of marijuana, according to a preliminary report.

Cantu has been free on $3,500 bond for the past month.

Circuit Judge William Storey issued a warrant for Cantu’s arrest Thursday, setting his new bond at $200,000.
