Sounds like the Jones Center is in trouble. Why doesn't the city invest in the Center instead of wasting it's money on golden crapper's and the Camber of " Let's Party " Commerce. Voter's get rid of all of them this is a election year and elect people who represent you and not them selfs.

Do they charge a fee for the Ice Rink? The article said they charge for swimming and renting of conference rooms. The article also said that running the compressors to freeze the Ice Rink was the most expensive part of the center. It only logicial to charge people for using the ice rink . If they are not doing this they need to start. It looks like the only other option to saving money is to shut the Ice Rink down. It looks like the City is eventually going to have to take over the operation of the Jones Center, so you better quit wasting money on "Pretty Toilets".

They charge $2 to rent ice skates. Did they lay people of now or is this talking about before? I hate to see more people in the area lose their jobs.

I had no idea that they charged for the ice rink. The article said they had 90,000 skaters and spectators. How many actually rented skates? I know the public skating rinks charge more than $2 for skate rental, maybe the Jones Center needs to look into raising the price. I'am like you I hate to see more people in the area lose their jobs. I think the people were layed off before this article was written.

My kids quit going there years ago when they became the minority and were made to feel very uncomfortable there.

The city of Springdale has forgotten the people who built the city and this Center. SUEK you are right, if white non-hispanic people had a parade down Emma Av, it would cause Holy Hell. You would be called racist, but when hispanic's have a parade the city is all into it. Vote this bunch out stating with the Mayor then the council. If this makes me a racist so be it.

The Jones Center has always been a wonderful place for everyone to learn, play and belong. Mrs. Jones' dream was that everyone (EVERYONE!) who walked through the doors would feel welcomed. May her dream survive.

Rumple, there are predominantly white parades down Emma Avenue several times a year--the rodeo parades and the Christmas parade. I don't see anyone objecting at all. Hatred takes a terrible toll on the person who feels it and on everyone around him or her. Be easy on yourself.
