SUBPOENAS ISSUED FOR CYBERBULLY IDENTITIES

A subpoena has been issued to Twitter to obtain the identity of the person behind an account targeting Bentonville High School students with racist, sexist and homophobic taunts, according to Bentonville Police Chief Jon Simpson.

Burn Books

Burn books gained a place in pop culture with the 2004 comedy film, “Mean Girls.” In the movie, high school girls fill a book with mean-spirited comments and photos about students they dislike.

The movie led to a rash of real and virtual burn books, including one at a Wallingford, Conn., preparatory school in 2010 where senior girls created a Facebook page ridiculing other students.

Residents Honor King

Marchers walk along Arkansas Avenue on Monday for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade and vigil sponsored by city of Fayetteville, the Northwest Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee, University of Arkansas’ Associated Student Government and the Black Student Association. The march led hundreds of walkers from the parking lot of the Walton Arts Center to the Verizon Ballroom at the University of Arkansas Union for a vigil which featured speakers and singers.
