— Knile Davis confirmed Sunday he has submitted NFL Draft evaluation paperwork, but has yet to make a decision whether he will return to Arkansas next season.

Davis, a junior running back, hasn’t played this season following a broken ankle suffered during preseason practices.

“I’m sure when I sit down with (Bobby) Petrino and my family, I’ll make a good decision,” Davis said Sunday at Cowboys Stadium.

“The rehab process is going good. It’s a lot better than it was a couple of months ago. I recently had surgery to take a pin out, but I’m holding up and feeling good.”

Davis led Arkansas with 1,322 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in 2010. He was a preseason all-SEC selection this year and would be a key addition to the Razorbacks’ offense next year with the loss of several departing seniors.

“We would love to have him come back and he would be a guy who would make a huge impact on our season next year,” Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said.

Davis has been injury-prone throughout his career, suffering five major injuries since his junior year of high school. He anticipates the NFL scouts might want to see him go through another season with an injury.

“That’s a big part of it,” Davis said. “I’d love to come back and be able to do what I couldn’t do this year, but at the same time there are a lot of different variables.

“I love Arkansas. I just want to make the best decision for me.”

Davis returned to practice in November but said he won’t play in the Cotton Bowl against Kansas State Friday night.

“I don’t feel like that’s a good decision to play,” Davis said. “I just want to see our guys do good; that’s what it’s all about.”

Quarterback Tyler Wilson and receiver Cobi Hamilton have also said they submitted evaluation paperwork to the NFL.
