La Nina has state basking this winter

But bugs, twisters said to lie ahead

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/STEPHEN B. THORNTON --2-2-12-- The Little Rock Zoo's Sloth Bear, Thor, dives into a box labeled "Spring" during a weather prediction ceremony Thursday morning at the Zoo. Thor sniffed both boxes before settling on Spring to eat first during the event to play on the Groundhog Day attention to Punxsutawney Phil.

Daffodils are beginning to bloom, and winged pests have already been buzzing in the state thanks to an unseasonably warm winter.
