Forbes urges financial overhaul
In Fort Smith, publisher predicts return to gold standard

Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media, called on the nation’s elected officials and policymakers Wednesday to establish a consistent monetary policy, simplify the federal tax code and reduce regulations that limit economic growth. “There’s no reason we can’t get back to a vigorous economy,” Forbes said, addressing a large crowd at the annual meeting of the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce at the city’s convention center.
