PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: God Was There In Shooting’s Wake

In response to Joseph R. Lingle’s question “Where Was God?” (Public Viewpoints, Dec. 27)

He was weeping for the children and families who were affected by the tragedy.

He was moved by all the outpouring of sympathy and support of a nation.

He was in anguish because we had removed him from our schools.

He was wondering how the placement of the Ten Commandments would have made a diff erence.

He was troubled by the growing violence on our televisions and video games that we allow our childrento view.

He was exactly where America has been placing Him for many years, “out of sight, out of mind, and out of heart.”

My proof is that He was there when our son passed away and has been with us every day since.

“If my people, who arecalled by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face ad turn from their wicked way, then will I will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
