Missouri falls to UCLA in overtime

— Shabazz Muhammad hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 1:01 left in overtime to help UCLA upset No. 7 Missouri 97-94 on Friday night and extend the Bruins’ winning streak to five games.

Travis Wear, who finished with a career-high 22 points, added a jumper with 12 seconds left to close out the Bruins’ first victory over a top-10 nonconference opponent since 2007.

Phil Pressey missed a three-pointer with five seconds to go before Laurence Bowers grabbed the rebound and missed a three-pointer in front of the Tigers’ bench as time expired.

Muhammad tied his career high with 27 points, David Wear scored 16, Jordan Adams had 12 and Larry Drew II added 12 assists for the Bruins (10-3). They came in 0-2 against ranked opponents this season after losing to Georgetown and San Diego State.

Pressey finished with 19 points and a career-high 19 assists, including all 12 of his team’s in the first half, for the Tigers (10-2). Keion Bell and Bowers had 17 points each, Earnest Ross added 16 and Jabari Brown had 14.

In other Top 25 games, Jordan Hulls scored a season-high 20 points, Cody Zeller added 16 and fifth-ranked Indiana (12-1) cruised past visiting Jacksonville (5-8), winning 93-59 in its final nonconference game. ... Kevin Pangos made seven three-pointers and scored 31 points to lead No. 13 Gonzaga (12-1) to a 94-87 victory over visiting Baylor (8-4).

SEC MEN LSU 75, HOUSTON BAPTIST 58

BATON ROUGE - Shavon Coleman had 11 points and 13 rebounds, and LSU used balanced scoring to cruise past Houston Baptist.

Andre Stringer and Jalen Courtney scored 11 points each, and Andrew Del Piero, Charles Carmouche, Malik Morgan and Eddie Ludwig chipped in with nine points each for the Tigers (8-2).

LSU played without sophomore guard Anthony Hickey, who was suspended by Coach Johnny Jones because of a disciplinary situation.

Tyler Russell led Houston Baptist (4-8) with 15 points.

SWAC WOMEN ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 64, NEW ORLEANS 54

Cassidy Wright scored a game-high 16 points as Arkansas-Pine Bluff (4-6) defeated New Orleans (1-12) at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans.

Wright was 7 of 15 from the field, including 2 of 5 from behind the three point line. Lakendra Marsh added 11 points and three assists for UAPB.

UAPB forced New Orleans into 31 turnovers, and the Golden Lions’ reserves outscored New Orleans’ bench 23-11.

Amber Clay and Mechel’le Thomas led New Orleans with 12 points each, and Mirjam Sipos had 10.
