GreenPlay was hired by the Property Owners Association for a needs assessment and action plan looking at the association’s recreational facilities, programs and services, take community input and determine the level of services needed.

The plan will prioritize the needs for upgrading facilities and services, as well as creating facilities and services. It will help determine phasing, timing, funding and other details for projects and services for the next several years, according to a news release.

GreenPlay began the process with seven focus groups. Of those invited, more than 90 property owners attended. During the focus groups facilitated by Pat O’Toole of GreenPlay, members were asked questions regarding recreational programs and facilities.

A public forum was held to share results from focus groups. More than 30 people attended offered input regarding recreational needs, according to the release.

The information collected was used by GreenPlay and RRC Associates to formulate the survey. In September, 3,000 surveys were sent to random property owners — 2,000 to resident owners and 1,000 to nonresident owners.

Of those, 693 were returned. Those who didn’t receive a survey had the opportunity to complete one online, which 568 people completed. O’Toole said he was pleased with the number of surveys returned, according to the release.
