Joseph Hofstetter and Theodore Scardino, two volunteer firefighters wounded in Webster, N.Y., when a gunman shot at them as they responded to a blaze, killing two other responders, said in a statement released by Strong Memorial Hospital that they are “humbled and overwhelmed,” by the outpouring of support.
