New Year Brings Changes To College’s Bella Vista Center

— NorthWest Arkansas Community College’s Bella Vista Center has announced changes to its operation.

Beginning Jan. 1, the college’s community and continuing education center, will be closed Friday. Office hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and, when necessary, closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday, according to a news release.

The two free monthly community activities — Brown Bag Seminars and Movie Matinees — will continue to be held, but the events will be held Thursday, rather than Friday, according to the release. 

Beginning in January, the Brown Bag Seminars will be held on the second Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Jan. 10 program will feature Ashley Linden and Linus Fabar with Linden’s Custom Jewelry & Repair. The program is “Jewelry 101: What to Look for When Purchasing a Fine Piece of Jewelry & Creating a Custom Piece.” This program is sponsored by Delta Trust & Bank and is recorded by the all-volunteer Bella Vista Community Television Channel 222, according to the release.

The monthly Movie Matinees will be held on the third Thursday of each month beginning at 1:30 p.m. The movie that is scheduled on Jan. 17 is “P.S. I Love You.” It is rated PG-13, according to the release.
