Local youngsters perform with Moscow ballet

Lillebeth Backes, left, and her sister Brinklee Backes will be two of the local children in the Moscow Classical Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” at the Walton Arts Center.

Two sisters from Siloam Springs will share the stage this weekend in Moscow Classical Ballet’s “The Nutcracker.” Lillebeth Backes, 11, and her sister Brinklee Backes, 8, will be party scene participants in the production. Lillebeth says the dances are mostly fun and happy because they are at a Christmas party.

Veteran musicians’ collective Earl and Them will assemble twice this weekend for shows in Northwest Arkansas. The group plays as part of an End of the World party at 8 p.m. today at Rogers Little Theater and at 8 p.m. Saturday at George’s Majestic Lounge. Included on the roster are players such as Jimmy Thackery, RJ Mischo, David Renko and Earl Cate.
