Sales tax revenue up in Rogers, Fayetteville, down in Springdale

Two cities had modest gains in sales tax revenue this month with Rogers leading the way with a 5-percent increase. Springdale, however, took a 5-percent plunge.

Sales tax revenue delivered in December reflects October tax collected in November. Comparisons are based on collections from the same month in the previous year.

Rogers, for the eighth consecutive month, received sales tax revenue over $1 million. This city received $1,089,925 compared to $1,037,840 for the same period last year, an increase of $52,085, or 5 percent.

Fayetteville had a modest 1-percent increase over the previous year bringing in $1,407,189 compared to $1,392,803, an increase of $14,386.

Bentonville received $774,011 this month compared to $773,150 last December, an increase of $860 or 0.1 percent.

Springdale, after several month of increasing sales tax revenue, took a tumble receiving $848,174 compared to $893,671 for the same period last year, a drop of $45,497, or -5 percent.
