FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas junior guard Alvin Bailey has signed with an agent and has notified school officials that he plans to declare early for the NFL Draft.
Bailey, 6-5, 312 pounds, started all 38 games of his college career and allowed no sacks this season. He is the second Razorbacks football player to declare early for the draft. Tailback Knile Davis, another junior, announced his plans to forgo his final season of eligibility last week.
Bailey, a native of Broken Arrow, Okla., who wasnamed an All-American by Pro Football Weekly after the 2011 season, has signed with the Morgan Advisory Group of Carefree, Ariz., and will train at Fischer Sports in Phoenix.
“We think Alvin has a high ceiling,” said Ryan Morgan,president of MAG. “He’s obviously a longtime starter and has a long track record of accomplishment in the SEC.”
Bailey, 21, was named to the Football Writers Association of America’s Freshman All-America team after the 2010 season, and was selected the SEC’s All-Freshman team that season.
Morgan said Bailey has a chance of receiving an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine, which sends out its invitations next month.
MAG will also represent defensive end Tenarius Wright, who is already rehabbing at Fischer Sports in Arizona, in the draft. The same agency signed Arkansas receivers Jarius Wright and Greg Childs, former standouts at Warren High School, who were both taken in the fourth round by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2012 NFL Draft.
