Arts center to host Carpenter, Colvin

The Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville will host an acoustic concert by Mary Chapin Carpenter and Shawn Colvin at 8 p.m. March 2. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. today for the event.

The acclaimed songwriters - and longtime friends - will share the stage, performing songs spanning both their careers as a duo. Tickets cost $26-$54.

The Alma Public Library will host a Polar Express party for children ages 5 to 11 from 3-5 p.m. Thursday. Participants can enjoy snacks and make crafts while watching the movie, Polar Express.

Children are invited to wear their pajamas to the party.

The event is free and open to the public.
