Ex-superintendent, Windstream make deal with Oklahoma AG

TULSA — A former Broken Arrow schools superintendent and Windstream Corp. have reached an agreement with prosecutors and they won’t be pursued on bribery and conspiracy charges.
The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday agreed to dismiss charges and defer prosecution against Jim Sisney and the Little Rock, Ark.-based data and communications company.
An indictment handed up earlier this year accused Sisney of accepting two NCAA Men’s Final Four tournament tickets in 2007 from Windstream, which supplied telecommunication services to the district. Windstream pledged to “vigorously contest the charges” and Sisley pleaded not guilty.
The Tulsa World reports that Sisney won’t be prosecuted if he adheres to conditions of the agreement. For its part, Windstream is to pay $100,000 to the Broken Arrow schools foundation. The company again denied wrongdoing Wednesday.
