PUBLIC VIEWPOINT: Eureka Springs Makes Wrong Choice

As a former resident of Eureka Springs and present member of a retirement community in Fayetteville with other retirees who called Eureka Springs their home, I’d like to express my concern about the demise of the Passion Play and the town’s embrace of gay marriage rights. ...

It remains in my prayers. As a town which was, and is, the home of an exceptional number of churches ... I fi nd it hard to think the town has become so far away from religious teachings that it chooses to embrace homosexual marriage. Jesus loved all - but he hated and abhorred sin - and the Apostle Paulmade it clear practicing homosexuals would not inherit the kingdom of heaven.

In essence, what the city has done is condemn these gay couples to a life far away from the gates of heaven, by opening their doors to them.

Do you still want to pat yourselves on the back?

Fayetteville GOLFER OFFERS THANKS Words cannot express the gratitude I have for all the love and support that everyone has shown.

I was diagnosed in early May with non-HodgkinsLymphoma just before graduation at John Brown University. Luckily I was able to walk with my fellow classmates and enjoy the celebration.

My treatment process has shown me a lot, including how many great friends I have. I would like to fi rst thank Haley and Pat Sanders, who have been such a blessing in my life. I also thank Matt Keller, a friend since childhood. To know that our bond remains is a great feeling.

A special thanks to Lost Springs Golf and Athletic Club, its staff and members for donating the course and allowing us to gather and enjoy each other’s company. Everyonethere is such a joy to be around and they make golf an enjoyable sport.

I would like to thank Abuelos for providing a delicious lunch for all of us to enjoy. Thank you to all those who donated beverages, gifts, and prizes. The tournament was a great turnout and again such a blessing to me and my family.

I have completed my treatments and am making a great recovery.

I am currently enrolled in the graduate program at John Brown University for counseling. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon, either at the course or around town.
