— A gunman at a Connecticut elementary school killed more than two dozen people, including children, on Friday. Here is a look at some other school shootings:

April 2, 2012: A gunman kills seven people in a rampage at California’s Oikos University. One Goh has been charged with seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Feb. 27, 2012: A gunman kills three students and wounds two others in a shooting rampage that starts in a school cafeteria in Chardon, Ohio. T.J. Lane has been charged.

April 30, 2009: Farda Gadyrov, 29, kills 12 people at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in the capital, Baku, before killing himself as police close in.

Sept. 23, 2008: Matti Saari, 22, opens fire at a vocational college in Kauhajoki, Finland, killing 10 people and burning their bodies with firebombs before shooting himself fatally in the head.

Feb. 14, 2008: Steven Kazmierczak, 27, shoots and kills five students and wounds 18 others in a lecture hall at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Ill., before committing suicide.

Nov. 7, 2007: Pekka-Eric Auvinen, 18, kills eight people at his high school in Tuusula, Finland.

April 16, 2007: Seung-Hui Cho, 23, fatally shoots 32 people in a dorm and a classroom at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, then kills himself.

Oct. 2, 2006: Charles Carl Roberts IV, 32, shoots to death five girls at West Nickel Mines Amish School in Pennsylvania, then kills himself.

March 21, 2005: Jeffrey Weise, 16, shoots and kills five schoolmates, a teacher and an unarmed guard at a high school on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Minnesota before taking his own life. Weise had earlier killed his grandfather and his grandfather’s companion.

Oct. 28, 2002: Robert Flores Jr., 41, shoots and kills three of his University of Arizona nursing professors before killing himself.

April 26, 2002: Robert Steinhaeuser, 19, who had been expelled from school in Erfurt, Germany, kills 13 teachers, two former classmates and a policeman, before committing suicide.

March 5, 2001: Charles “Andy” Williams, 15, kills two fellow students and wounds 13 others at Santana High School in Santee, Calif.

April 20, 1999: Students Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, open fire at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colo., killing 12 classmates and a teacher and wounding 26 others before killing themselves.

May 21, 1998: Kip Kinkel, 17, kills two and wounds more than 20 people when he opens fire at a high school in Springfield, Ore., after killing his parents.

March 24, 1998: Andrew Golden, 11, and Mitchell Johnson, 13, kill four girls and a teacher at a middle school near Jonesboro, Ark. Ten others are wounded in the shooting.

Dec. 1, 1997: Michael Carneal, 14, kills three students and wounds five more at a high school in West Paducah, Ky. He is serving life in prison after pleading guilty but mentally ill to murder.

Oct. 1, 1997: Luke Woodham, 16, of Pearl, Miss., fatally shoots two students and wounds seven others after stabbing his mother to death. He has been sentenced to three life sentences.

March 13, 1996: Thomas Hamilton, 43, kills 16 kindergartners and their teacher in elementary school in Dunblane, Scotland, and then kills himself.
