SPRINGDALE — The Jones Center and Jones Trust will receive $23 million in grants it was announced this morning.
The Walton Family Foundation is giving $10 million to the Jones endowment fund which underwrites the Jones Center. Additionally, $3 million will be given to the center’s operation fund. The money will be distributed over three years.
The Endeavor Foundation is also giving $10 million to the endowment fund.
The Jones Center and Jones Trust were established by Harvey and Bernice Jones who operated Jones Truck Lines based in Springdale. The center and its facilities were available to the public without charge until financial issues forced the board to institute fees.
