— Jim Rollins, School District superintendent, was among nine people honored recently for service on the Economics Arkansas Board of Directors. Rollins was named a lifetime board member for his 28 years of work with the organization.

Economics Arkansas is a private, nonprofit educational group that promotes economic literacy to students in prekindergarten through grade 12. It is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Sue Owens, Economics Arkansas director, addressed the Springdale School Board at its meeting Tuesday. She praised Rollins for his contributions to the organization.

“He is one of the reasons we are celebrating 50 years,” Owens said.
