Police Investigating Second Home Invasion

— Police are investigating the second home invasion in two weeks.

A robbery was reported at a condo at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday at 1798 N. Chestnut Ave.

Sgt. Craig Stout said two men knocked on the front door, an occupant opened the door and the men forced their way in.

At least one of the intruders was armed with a pistol, police said.

The robbers forced the occupants to lie on the kitchen floor. Wallets, phones and narcotics were stolen, Stout said.

No one was injured, and no arrests were made Wednesday, he said.

The intruders were described as two black men, with short hair, 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds, according to the report.

Investigators haven’t determined if the incident is related to a home invasion on Dec. 5 at the Sycamore Place Apartments, 775 W. Sycamore St. Four men pushed their way into an apartment and robbed three occupants about 8:30 p.m. The occupants were forced into a bathroom and the robbers stole their cellphones and money.

“It’s too early to determine if they’re related,” Stout said. “They were the same style.”
