Hubbard, Sykes

Win At Beaver

Mike Hubbard and Chris Sykes won the Winter Series bass tournament held at Beaver Lake on Sunday with six bass that weighed 18.9 pounds.

Rocky Hopkins and Jerry Ray were second with six bass at 18.82 pounds. Hopkins had big bass at 6.66 pounds.

Brent Mason and Terry Weaver placed third with six bass at 15.44 pounds.

Most fish were caught deep with jigs.

Cruz, Williams

Top Bassmasters

Jesse Cruz and Paul Williams won the Northwest Arkansas Bassmasters tournament held on Sunday at Swepco Lake near Gentry. They had 10 bass that weighed 30.13 pounds.

Williams had big bassat 5.03 pounds.

Brad Hollowell and Raymond Phillips placed second with nine bass at 23.02 pounds.

Randy McKee and Dewey Larson were third with 10 bass at 19.14 pounds.

Most fish were caught with soft plastics.

Tournament Rings In New Year

The annual New Year’s Day Polar Bear bass tournament will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

on Jan. 1 at Beaver Lake out of Prairie Creek park.

Entry fee is $70 per team and must be paid in cash.

The fee may be paid at Prairie Creek on tournament morning.

Three places will be paid up to 30 boats, with another place added for every 10 boats above that. The limit is six fish.

Chad Johnson is tournament director.
