Two More Arrested in Robbery Cases

— Police arrested two additional suspects in connection with an online advertising scam that led to robberies.

William J. Brown, 28, of 4855 S.W. Regional Airport Blvd. in Bentonville and Melvin J. Cooper, 29, of 4405 Bonnie Lane in Springdale were arrested in connection with felony aggravated robbery. Cooper was arrested Friday and Brown on Monday, according to police.

The men are suspects in a robbery on Crutcher Street, according to a police news release. Police linked the robberies to a pair of similar robberies on West End Street.

The victims of the robberies were responding to ads placed online, according to the release.

Timothy Counts, 24, and Richard Rodriquez, 22, both of Springdale, were arrested Dec. 5 in connection with aggravated robbery, theft by receiving, theft of property, promoting prostitution, breaking and entering and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Counts and Rodriquez were connected to the West End robberies as well as the Crutcher Street robbery.

Brown was in the Washington County Detention Center on Tuesday in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Cooper was in the Washington County Detention Center on Tuesday in lieu of $100,000 bond.
