State Football Champion Bulldogs to be Honored

— The 7A state football champions, the Fayetteville High School Bulldogs, will be honored today at a community appreciation and celebration hosted by the school’s football booster club, according to a news release from the club.

The celebration will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Center. The Purple ’Dogs defeated the Bentonville Tigers for the state championship Dec. 1. The Fayetteville team also won the championship in 2011.

Mayor Lioneld Jordan, other city leaders and school administrators will be on hand to congratulate and thank the team.

There also will be video highlights of the game as well as state championship posters on sale for $1, free programs and inserts, team autographs, cake and punch. Team autographed helmets and jerseys will be up for auction, according to the release.

Trophies from 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons will be on display. State championship T-shirts and championship rings also can be ordered.
