Scaife’s 32 points lift Hall past Conway

— The Little Rock Hall Lady Warriors took Conway’s best shot and punched back late, winning 63-54 in the championship game of the Wampus Cat Invitational on Saturday.

Tyler Scaife led Hall with 32 points, including 10 in the final quarter to help the Lady Warriors (7-1) pull away.

Conway (6-2) trailed 54-52with 4:51 to play on a three pointer by Enjonae Chambers, but Hall outscored Conway 8-0 during the next three minutes, with Scaife scoring six of those points.

Hall led 37-26 at the half, but Conway outscored Hall 19-11 in the third quarter and cut the lead to 48-45.

Hall led 21-19 after a fast paced first quarter, but two baskets by Katelyn Weber and another basket by Scaife helped the Lady Warriors open their 11-point halftime lead.

Webber finished with eight points and four blocks. Kianna Speight added 14 points for Conway.

BOYS JACKSONVILLE 67, PINE BLUFF 54

CONWAY - Jacksonville raced out to a 9-0 lead and never wavered the rest of the way, defeating Pine Bluff in the championship game of the Wampus Cat Invitational on Saturday night.

The Red Devils were led by the three point shooting of Aaron Smith and the inside presence of Keith Charleston as they never trailed.

LeDarrius Skelton hit a three-pointer to pull the Zebras within 37-34.

But Jacksonville went on a 14-2 run capped by a steal and slam by Charleston and four consecutive three-pointers - two by Smith and two by Reggie Barnes.

Smith led all scorers with 19 points, including 3 three-pointers. Charleston added 12 points. Skelton led Pine Bluff with 13 points.
