Planners To Discuss Building Proposal

— Planning Commission members are expected to vote on large-scale development plans for the construction of a Casey’s General Store at a meeting Monday night.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Fire Department training room.

Plans call for a 4,300-square-foot building with a canopy structure housing 16 gasoline pumps at the intersection of Bella Vista Way and Riordan Road.

During a work session Nov. 28, options for street improvement to Riordan Road between the site and Cunningham Corner were discussed. Solutions to traffic congestion problems include widening Riordan Road just west of Bella Vista Way and inserting a median between the two developments to prohibit left turns into Casey’s and Cunningham Corner at the entrances closest to Bella Vista Way.

Commissioners also will discuss three waivers applied for by the developer, including the driveway length, distance from the right of way and drainage requirements.

There will be opportunity for the public to speak during the meeting, but not during the discussion of the development plan.
