Mannheim Steamroller in Fayetteville with 2 shows

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis will be onstage at 4 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville.

Also at Walton Arts Center this week, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia will perform, using hand-crafted puppets, the double-bill of Guess How Much I Love You, based on the children’s book by author Sam McBratney and illustrator Anita Jeram about a pair of hares, parent and child,and I Love My Little Story Book, written and illustrated by Jeram, at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Baum Walker Hall. Music is by Steven Naylor, with a recorded narration by Beau Bridges. The show, part of the center’s Kids Series, is recommended for kids ages 3-6. Tickets are $10-$20.

Christmas concert

Soprano Cassandra Hernandez, tenor Toby Freeman, two area high school choirs and the SoNA Chorale will join the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and conductor Paul Haas for a Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St., Fayetteville.

Freeman will sing a pairing of “Turn Your Eyes” and “O Holy Night”; Hernandez will sing “Santa Baby.” Kyle Kellams of radio station KUAFFM, 91.3, will narrate “G-A-GE: A Christmas Story.”

The program also includes classic and contemporary Christmas music, including Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” two selections from P.I. Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves.

Dinner cabaret

Students in Arkansas Tech University’s Music TheatreWorkshop will put on a Fall Dinner Cabaret featuring songs from Broadway musicals at 7 p.m. Monday in Sutherland Hall, All Saints Episcopal Church, 501 S. Phoenix St., Russellville. Performers include Scott Arnold, Jordan Webb, Spencer Colling, Brandon Sorrells, Christopher Turner, Allison Foster Key, Carling Futterer, Lori Wilson and Kathryn Lynch. Moviemakers’ ball

Arkansas Movie MakersOrganization will put on the first Little Rock Filmmaker’s and Actor’s Ball, 6:30-11 p.m. Saturday in the Main Dining Room of the Little Rock Club, 400 W. Capitol Ave., Little Rock.

The event will feature dinner, formal toasts, formal and informal dancing, a short professional dance expo and a free group lesson in formal ballroom dancing. There will also be a cash bar.
