Alma rallies behind Jenson, Widders

— Alma rallied from a four-point halftime deficit to knock off host Russellville 64-56 to win its third consecutive Liberty Bank Cyclone Classic on Saturday night.

Gage Jensen led all scorers with 21 points for the Airedales (4-0). Jensen also had a team-high 9 reboundswhile Brock Widders added 20 points and 6 rebounds and Braxton Anderson scored 15 points.

“They are bigger than us so we had to hustle harder and rebound to compete,” Jensen said. “These teams prepare us for what is a very good 5AWest Conference that we are in and we look forward to those games later on in the year.”

Tony Jones led the Cyclones (4-3) with 16 points while Andy Campbell scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Alma scored 13 of the second half’s first 17 points to take control. The Airedales led 48-39 to start the fourth quarter.

SATURDAY BOYS SCRANTON 53, LAMAR 39 Austin Siebenmorgen scored 23 points and cousin Seth Seibenmorgen added 20 as the Rockets defeated the Warriors in the finals of the Scranton Classic. Colton Parmenter led Lamar with 13 points. Lincoln defeated Atkins 61-53 in the consolation game.

WEST FORK 56, BERGMAN 46 Leon Beasley scored 17 points as the Tigers (9-0) put away the Panthers (6-4) inWest Fork. Trevor England added 16 and Josh Ferrell 13 for West Fork. Reggie Evans led Bergman with 22 points.

SATURDAY GIRLS LINCOLN 50, SCRANTON 39 Haylee Sugg led the Lady Wolves with 20 points in a victory over the host Lady Rockets in the Scranton Classic championship game.

Erica Harris led Scranton with 14 points. Lamar defeated Atkins 43-34 in the consolation game.

MONTICELLO 48, DREW CENTRAL 47 Sedre-Anne Griddine and Erin Campbell each scored 13 points as the Lady Billies (4-3) held off the Lady Pirates. Avion Gardner led Drew Central with 14 points while Aaliyon Block added 13.
