Where I live: I live out in the middle of nowhere. I live out between Wesley and Hindsville in Madison County. I built a log house out there 13 years ago. It’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet. While I’m not a native of Madison County, I’ve fallen in love with the people and the area.

Occupation: Executive director of the Springdale Public Schools Education Foundation. We are just finishing up our first full year of operation. I actually started the foundation. School foundations are nothing new. There are more than 50 school foundations in Arkansas. Springdale didn’t have a foundation. In essence, all we are is a nonprofit fundraising arm for the district. We raise money for student scholarships and teacher grants. In our first year, we were able to award $20,000 in teacher grants and $22,000 in student scholarships. We’ve accumulated more than $450,000 in endowed scholarship funding.

My favorite space: My living room.

Why? The living room space is really a cool space. It’s a big, open room. It’s just a really comfortable, livable space. The south side of the room is all glass, so it looks out into Madison County. You can see for miles and miles. I don’t ever get tired of just sitting there and looking out the windows.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Fill it full of my friends and have a great evening.
