Hall girls overwhelm NLR

— Tyler Scaife scored 23 points, leading the Little Rock Hall Lady Warriors over the North Little Rock Lady Charging Wildcats 57-25 on Friday night in the semifinals of the Wampus Cat Invitational.

The Lady Warriors made their first five shots to open an 11-2 lead and never let up against North Little Rock, which shot 16 percent from the field in the first quarter.

Even Hall’s first miss, a short jumper by Scaife, turned into a basket when Katelyn Weber rebounded and put it back in, and Hall led 21-4 after one quarter.

Things didn’t get any better for the Lady Charging Wildcats. They missed their first nine shots and had four turnovers in the second quarter.

Hall led 35-11 at halftime, with Scaife scoring 14 points and the Lady Warriors shooting 50 percent from the field.

The teams traded baskets to start the second half before Hall added a steal and layup by Scaife to open a 26-point lead. Hall scored the final six points of the third quarter and led 52-21 heading into the fourth.

Kiara Moore added 10 points for Hall. Rakia Lane and Taylor Collins each scored six points.

North Little Rock was led by Malika Monk, who scored six points.

CONWAY 62, CAMDEN FAIRVIEW 33

The Conway Lady Wampus Cats scored 26 points in the opening quarter en route to a 62-33 victory over Camden Fairview. Enjonae Chambers led the Lady Cats with 16 points, all coming in the first half. Jordan Danberry followed with 10 points. Micaela Norment and Kianna Speight scored 7 points each. Camden Fairview was led by Jermeka Marks and Bre Bates, who each scored 11 points.

BOYS

JACKSONVILLE 73, BRYANT 45

The Jacksonville Red Devils outscored Bryant 46-18 in the second half to run away with a victory in the semifinals of the Wampus Cat Invitational Friday. The game was tied at 27-27 at the half. Bryant’s K.J. Hill led all scorers with 26 points. Jacksonville had three players with at least 10 points, including Keith Charleston who scored 15 and Sergio Berkley and Aaron Smith, who both scored 14. Smith hit four three-pointers in the game.

PINE BLUFF 79, CONWAY 74 OT

Conway came back from 11 points down in the second half to force overtime but Pine Bluff pulled away in the extra period, winning 79-74 in the semifinals of the Wampus Cat Invitational. Both Justin Leon for Conway and Ronald Clements for Pine Bluff scored 30 points. Other leading scorers for Pine Bluff included T. Payne with 15 points and Darren Kee, who added 10. Other leading scorers for Conway included Tim Boyd who scored 20 points and Adrian Moore who scored 14.
