— Senior wide receiver Dorian Evans caught a 30-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the game to give Junction City a 27-26 victory over Bearden in the Class 2A state championship game Friday night at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The Dragons (14-1) captured their fourth state championship since 2003. The Bears (12-3) lost for the third time in the state championship game since 2007. 8C

Championship battles

Stuttgart can add to its six state championships with a victory today over Ozark in the Class 4A state championship at 6:30 p.m. today at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, but Harding Academy will put its undefeated record on the line in the Class 3A game at noon today against Glen Rose, winners of 13 consecutive. 7C
