Tulsa (Okla.) Edison took advantage of poor free-throwing shooting by Springdale Har-Ber to defeat the Wildcats, 59-48, Thursday in the first round of the Bixby (Okla.) Invitational.

Justin Malott scored 16 points and Austin Fox added 10 points for Har-Ber, which finished 7-of-17 from the free-throw line.

“We shot it well from the perimeter, but our free-throw shooting and interior defense has to be better,” Har-Ber coach Adam Simmons said.

Har-Ber (1-5) will face the loser of the Bixby-Stillwater game in a second-round at 2:30 p.m. today.
