Man Charged With Video Voyeurism Faces New Charges

— A man charged with video taping a 14-year-old girl in the shower faces new charges in connection with rape.

Police arrested Thomas Jason Pipes, 42, of 4452 Beaver Lane on Monday in connection with felony video voyeurism and possessing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child. Police filed new charges against Pipes on Tuesday in connection with felony rape and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Pipes’ wife reported to police Monday she found an inappropriate video of a 14-year-old girl on the computer she shares with Pipes, according to an arrest report.

Police said Pipes initially denied any wrongdoing, but later admitted to recording the girl in the shower. He told police he suspected the girl of taking pictures of herself with her phone and sending them to boys. Pipes said he wanted to “catch her in the act,” the report said.

During an interview at the Children’s Safety Center, the girl told an investigator Pipes has had sexual contact with her on a regular basis for the past two to three years.

Pipes was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held Tuesday without bond.
