Fayetteville Wins Kickapoo Classic

Fayetteville put together three days of consistent play at the Springfield, Mo. Kickapoo Tipoff Classic, wrapping the title up with a convincing 66-37 win over host Kickapoo on Saturday.

Manuale Watkins was named tournament Most Valuable Player and scored 10 points in Saturday’s win. Ja’wan Smith added 16 points and Cameron Paschke added 12.

“I think we got better up here,” Fayetteville coach Kyle Adams said. “We definitely rebounded well and guarded well and then we shot the ball well this last game.

“Cameron really got going for us in this last game and that was great to see.”

Tyler McCullough was also named to the all-tournament team for Fayetteville (7-1).

The Bulldogs return to action at 4 p.m. Thursday when it plays Little Rock McClellan in the Jammin’ For Jackets Tournament, being hosted by Little Rock Hall.
