JBU hosts 70th Candlelight Service
John Brown University will host its 70th annual Candlelight Service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Cathedral of the Ozarks in Siloam Springs. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. each night.
The event begins the Christmas season with traditional melodies, Christmas classics and inspirational readings.
This year’s service will include performances by the school’s Cathedral Choir, Chamber Choir, Women’s Chorus and Chamber Orchestra.
The service is free and open to the public; seating is first come, first served.

The United Way of Northwest Arkansas is now accepting program overviews from potential partners. The open proposal process is designed to give agencies interested in working with the United Way an opportunity to submit a summary of their programs that meet United Way requirements.
The United Way of Northwest Arkansas has four main areas of focus: education, income, health and “safety net.” The programs with the most promising proposals will be invited to complete a 2013-2014 investment proposal.
Program overviews are due Dec. 12.
