Fourth Annual Help Portrait

Photographers and volunteers throughout Northwest Arkansas are participating in an event Saturday to help people in need smile, laugh and regain dignity.

Help Portrait has a simple plan: find someone in need, take their portrait, print and deliver it. Participants will be provided preparation of hair and makeup, a meal, framed portraits and CDs of their session images, all for free.

People in more than 1,700 places in 60 countries are expected to take part in the fourth annual Help Portrait this year. The event has served about 201,367 people worldwide in the past three years.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at

Bentonville Nazarene Church, 220 N.W. A St. in Bentonville,

PSNWA Studio, 126 W. Emma Ave. in Springdale,

Root School, 1529 Mission Ave. in Fayetteville.
