UPDATE: Attempted murder suspect arrested following manhunt

4:04 p.m. update Phillip Engles, the subject of an extensive manhunt in Boone and Newton counties, was arrested Monday in Boone County, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Office.
Engles was arrested in connection with attempted capital murder, aggravated robbery and felon in possession of a firearm. He was being held Monday afternoon in the Boone County Jail.
A manhunt is under way by Boone and Newton County authorities after a store owner was shot Saturday in a robbery, the Boone County sheriff's office said in a statement.
Boone County deputies responding to an armed robbery at Unique Treasures in Bellefonte found the store owner with gunshot wounds in the head and arm. After investigating, authorities identified Phillip Ray Engles as a suspect, according to the sheriff's office news release.
Authorities searching for Engles chased him and a woman to near the Boone and Newton county line, the news release stated.
Engles escaped, but authorities arrested the woman, 29-year-old Mandy Engles, on a charge of hindering apprehension, according to the news release.
Authorities are resuming their search Monday using a helicopter. Anyone who encounters Phillip Engles should consider him armed and dangerous, the news release states.
Anyone with information on his location is asked to call the Boone County sheriff's office at (870) 741-8404.
The store owner is in a Springfield, Mo., hospital and as of Sunday morning was listed in good condition, according to the news release.
