— Travelers name interim GM

Two weeks after acknowledging departures at the top of their front office, the Arkansas Travelers announced Friday that Paul Allen has been named interim general manager and will remain in that role while the club’s executive committee searches for a permanent replacement.

Allen has served as assistant general manager since 2010 and has worked two stints for the Travs totaling seven years. He replaces Pete Laven, whose 15 total seasons with the club came to an end earlier this month.

David Kay, who had been assistant general manager for tickets since 2007, also left the team earlier this month, but the club hasn’t acknowledged the reasons for his departure, either.

The team also announced Friday the hiring of Leslie Baker as director of community relations and Jeff Daley, Ben Harrington and Eric Schrader as account executives.
