A solid defensive performance wasn’t enough to land Fayetteville it’s first win of the season Thursday at the Fat City Classic in Nettleton.
Friday was a different story as the Lady Bulldogs earned their first win of the season, 40-31 against host Nettleton.
“We played great (Thursday) on defense. We forced 21 turnovers but we just couldn’t score,” Fayetteville coach Vic Rimmer said. “We didn’t face much pressure (against Nettleton) and we still only scored 40 points, but a win is a win.”
Aubrey Edie led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points.
Fayetteville (1-3) will face the Jonesboro-West Memphis winner in the final round of the tournament at 11:30 a.m. today.
