Kudos For School’s Veterans Program

Saturday, December 1, 2012

Idon’t know who put the program together honoring the veterans at Old High Middle School in Bentonville, but kudos for all the teachers who helped organize, produce, and practice countless hours with the fifth- and sixth-grade choirs that was presentedon Friday, Nov. 9.

The kids were polite, energetic, enthusiastic and friendly and made the program honoring us old soldiers a blast.

It was nothing short of fantastic. They not only made posters honoring veterans (usually a family member) but they alsocreated stories about what is a veteran, the freedoms they fought and died for and sang their hearts out. It’s been a long time since we’ve attended a presentation of this caliber.

Please accept the thanks of a grateful community for a job well done. Our kids are in good handswhen our schools stimulate patriotism and respect for God, our flag and our country.

Jeff Wasem, Old High Middle School principal, closed out the program with class and dignity.
