A strong start and an even stronger finish earned Fayetteville to its second win at the Springfield (Mo.) Kickapoo Tipoff Classic.
The Bulldogs built a 14-point lead after one quarter, then struggled in the second quarter before finishing off Liberty, Mo. with a solid second half in a 73-52 win on Friday.
“We executed pretty well in the first quarter,” Bulldogs coach Kyle Adams said. “Then we kind of had a lull in the second quarter, but we stuck together and came back and played well in the second half.”
Tyler McCullough scored a game-high 15 points. Chasen Williamson added 13, Ja’wan Smith 12 and Cameron Paschke 11.
Fayetteville (6-1) meets host Kickpaoo at 1 p.m. today in the final round.
