SPRINGDALE — The Northwest Arkansas Naturals will host the 2013 Texas League All-Star Game on July 25 at Arvest Ballpark, the team announced Wednesday. The league also will hold its Home Run Derby the same day, prior to the All-Star Game. It is the first time the Naturals, who joined the league in 2008, will host the events. “It is a great event, and we are so honored to be hosting the mid-summer classic,” Naturals General Manager Eric Edelstein said. “This is not only a time-honored tradition for the baseball community, but it is also a perfect opportunity to showcase the best of the Northwest Arkansas region.” The North Division used a two-run home run by Oscar Taveras of the Springfield Cardinals to defeat the South Division 3-1 in this year’s All-Star Game on June 28 at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.
