— Police arrested a Pea Ridge man Friday in connection with a commercial burglary.

Daniel Ray Hutchek, 32, of 10502 E. McNealy in Pea Ridge was being held Monday in the Benton County Jail in connection with felony commercial burglary, felony theft of property, felony first-degree criminal mischief, felony hindering apprehension or prosecution, misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime, misdemeanor second-degree criminal mischief and misdemeanor fleeing.

Officers responded July 31 to a burglary at Strateline Industries, 400 W. New Hope Road, according to a news release from the Rogers Police Department. Investigators found a “significant” amount of damage to the business and copper wire and other items were taken.

Strateline closed in 2010, according to previous news reports.

The investigation identified Hutchek as a suspect, according to police, and he was found at 2503 Turtle Creek Drive in Rogers.

After obtaining a search warrant, police said the residence was searched and large amounts of copper wire and equipment used for stripping the insulation from the wire were found.

Detectives attempted to contact Hutchek and he was captured after a brief foot pursuit, according to the news release.

Hutchek is being held on a $50,000 bond.
