Account set up for RHS grad whose home burned

An Arvest Care account has been established for Suzy Stevenson Koch, a Rogers High School graduate whose home in Luther, Okla., burned in last week’s wildfire.

Koch is the daughter of Sheila and Oscar Boyd of Rogers and Mike Stevenson.

Koch’s son Anthony Balderaz was at home when the fires forced evacuation of the central Oklahoma town, Koch said. Authorities said they are looking for someone they believed threw a newspaper that had been lit on fire from a vehicle, igniting the blaze which destroyed more than 100 homes.

Anthony begins classes at the University of Arkansas, and is to report to Fayetteville on Friday. He escaped with the clothes he was wearing and a few things he could throw into a duffle, Koch said.

Koch, a single mother of three boys, did not have renter’s insurance.

Donations may be made at any Arvest location.
