Filings Decrease In Area

FORECLOSURES DOWN; REGION STILL LEADS STATE

The region’s foreclosures filings fell more than 55 percent from August a year ago, and were 30 percent lower than in July, according to Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac, a national real estate marketing firm.

The number of foreclosure filings reported by county in August, compared to a year ago.

Benton County: 186, down 51 percent

Washington County: 150, down 60 percent

Madison County: 0, down 100 percent

McDonald County: 3, down 52 percent

Statewide: 750, down 60 percent

Nationwide: 228,098, down 33 percent
