August Homes Sales Jump
Northwest Arkansas’ Average Price Was $71 Per Square Foot

Local agents got a back-to-school boost in their August paychecks when home sales increased 25 percent from a year ago, according to Paul Bynum, statistician with Mountdata, a residential real estate data analysis firm.

To print a headline that is embelishing bad data is wrong. I quote this article as saying "Homes sold at an average of $71 per square foot in August, down from $76 a year ago, according to Mountdata."
This is only good news if this establishes a FLOOR on prices. One month of a few more homes at lower prices is not good news. People lost their equity and probably bailed out of their loan BEFORE forclosure around the corner.
